Why would I use this book in the classroom:
As a future educator, I'd use this book to teach students about Benjamin Franklin and his impact on this great country. The book discusses Franklin's accomplishments through illustration and text. There is even a timeline that lists the events in his life.
Appropriate grade level:
I think an appropriate grade level for this book is PreK-3rd. The book has illustrations that children will enjoy, while they are being read too. It's a great book to share with students to teach them about this holiday.
Ideas for unit of study to include the book in and how you might use the book in the classroom:
- Language Arts: I would use this book to have students write about an event that happened in Franklin's life. They could complete an activity where they complete their own timelines.
