Summary:
This book is about Trixie and her dad's visit to the laundry mat. While they are at the laundry mat, Trixie loses her stuffed bunny. After trying to communicate her frustration with her father, her mother is the one who notices that the bunny is missing. The family work together to find the bunny. In the end, Trixie finds the bunny, and says her first words!
Why would I use this book in the classroom:
As a future educator, I'd use this book in my classroom to tell a relatable story to my students. This is a really fun book, that describes a realistic tale, a child missing their toy. Students will understand Trixie.
Appropriate grade level:
I think an appropriate grade level for this book is PreK-K, because it is an easy read. The pictures are very fun. The character in this book, is roughly about the same age as children in this grade level.
Ideas for unit of study to include the book in and how you might use the book in the classroom:
- Language Arts: I would use this book to lead an activity where students describe the plot of the story. They will identify the problem and the solution.
